Nick Hakim‘s music video for “Cuffed” evokes and reimagines the rituals of the Venezuelan followers of Maria Lionza – watch the video now, which was directed by Daniel Kaufman (Diddy; DJ Khaled feat. Future & Jay Z) and features the performance art of FlucT, and read an interview with the director via The FADER.

Of the video, Kaufman said, “For me, the video is about a violent expulsion of negativity–because catharsis is always violent. I’d like people to feel that odd mix of disbelief, confusion, aversion, and perverse joy.” Nick Hakim added, “my favorite part of this process was getting to know everyone else in the couple days we spent working on this video: in one day all of us connected with one another and found trust within one another. It was truly therapeutic. The land we were on was extremely beautiful. I feel blessed to have worked with such talented and amazing artists.”
