‘Celebrate Tonight’ with Allen Stone’s New Video

Today, Rolling Stone is premiering Allen Stone’s new music video for the song “Celebrate Tonight”.  Sporting his signature horn-rimmed glasses, Stone lights up an otherwise subdued celebration at a senior center. His powerful vocals pull the residents from their seats and engages them in spirited, synchronized clapping.

“‘Celebrate Tonight’ is a very special song to me,” the singer tells Rolling Stone. “This video concept we were able to do brings this song fully to life. I hope it simply communicates happiness and joy and love that we as humans can create and share with one another, regardless of age, race or gender.”

Allen plays SXSW on March 13th before heading overseas for a string of performances in Australia and Japan. He returns to the United States in mid-April for more dates.

Caitlin Rose’s Sophomore Album “The Stand-In” Out Now!

The Stand-In is out now!

iTunes / Amazon / ATO Store

Billboard premiered the official video for “Only A Clown,” a standout track off Caitlin Rose’s forthcoming album, The Stand-In. The video features Rose enjoying a Nashville night, complete with friends, love interests, karaoke and a run-in with the cops that threatens to make out favorite songbird a potential jailbird.

Caitlin Rose has also just added a full run of West Coast tour dates this spring in addition to her East Coast dates, as well as a solid lineup of shows at this year’s SXSW conference in March. Check out all of Caitlin’s upcoming dates below.
Caitlin Rose‘s new album, The Stand-In, introduces a newfound confidence in Rose, the poise of an experienced songwriter rarely displayed on a sophomore offering. This sense of self-assurance is woven throughout twelve carefully crafted songs with the timeless sound and witty approach to lyricism that has become her signature. Still only 25, the scope of her progression as an artist is palpable from the outset, and Rose herself happily concurs. “This album could be considered my first attempt at a high kick,” she says, acknowledging Own Side Now as a much more small scale and pared down recording. “We’re not aiming to make indie-sounding records. How boring would that be? ”Incorporating classic influences from her Nashville roots with a modern pop twist, Caitlin’s vocals soar over lyrics that seem to possess the wisdom of an old soul.Crafted with Nashville producers Jordan Lehning and Skylar Wilson (Justin Townes Earle), featuring two songs co-written with Gary Louris (The Jayhawks), The Stand-In came together and took form as a team effort, strengthened by a longtime friendship with band mates Jeremy Fetzer and Spencer Cullum.  Inspired by classic country musicians, misunderstandings, break ups, mystical landmarks and the constantly evolving landscape of the Nashville music scene, The Stand-In is an ambitious record, a testament to Rose’s bold approach and strength as a songwriter. With a trademark punch that the New York Times once likened to a young “Patsy Cline learning to howl”, Rose’s fiery disposition shines through on rollicking tracks like “No One To Call” and “Waitin’,” songs that possess a huge sound and a whole lot of character. Never the type to be one-dimensional, Rose wears her heart on her sleeve on candid serenades like “I Was Cruel” and sentimental ballads like “Pink Champagne” or “When I’m Gone.”And in true form, Rose includes a brilliant cover on The Stand-In, this time of The Felice Brothers’ single, “Dallas.” When evaluating Rose’s historic love affair with reinventing classic songs, the term “cover” seems like a bit of an understatement. With her past renditions of songs like Fleetwood Mac’s “Things Change” and Arctic Monkeys’ “Piledriver Waltz”, Rose demonstrates an undeniable knack for choosing unexpected gems that result in a brilliant interpretation of her own that can stand up to the original.

As Rose noted, “I’ve got a big personality when there’s room for it.” With The Stand-In, the world will certainly make room for Caitlin Rose.

The Stand-In track list:

1. “No One to Call”
2. “I Was Cruel”
3. “Waitin’”
4. “Only a Clown”
5. “Dallas”
6. “Pink Champagne”
7. “Golden Boy”
8. “Silver Sings”
9. “Everywhere I Go”
10. “When I’m Gone”
11. “Menagerie”
12. “Old Numbers”

Bobby Long’s “Wishbone” Now Available / On Tour Now

ATO Records and Bobby Long proudly present Wishbone, the sophomore album from the British born artist who calls New York City home. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Ted Hutt (Gaslight Anthem, Lucero, Old Crow Medicine Show), the well crafted songs on Wishbone live up to the expectations put upon a young man the Wall Street Journal touted as a “promising talent” with “much more to say,” after the release of his Liam Watson produced debut album A Winter Tale.

Wishbone is available now at Bobby Long’s Official Store, iTunes, and Amazon.

On Wishbone Long taps into a broader pallete of emotions than he has on past releases, eschewing melancholy and eloquently channeling anger and frustration into gritty, hard driving guitar (Long played a majority of the guitar heard on the album) parts that compliment his rough-hewn vocals. Steel guitar provides an apt counter balance, adding a hint of twang and drawn out expanse to the urgency put forth in the lyrics. Throughout the album Long displays his deft control of melody and tone, well practiced over many years of prolific songwriting.

Long has come a good way from his early days playing open mic nights in London while finishing his University thesis on the social impact of American Folk Music. He now finds himself stepping into the pantheon of that grand musical history he so reveres, gigging at major festivals like Bonnaroo, impacting popular culture with performances on the CBS Early Show and Jay Leno, and presented with the humbling opportunity to record Wishbone with Elliott Smith’s guitar, graciously lent by studio neighbor Rob Schnapf. Yet with all these significant accomplishments, Long is far from content, and looks forward to bringing Wishbone and a blistering live show to the world in 2013.

One of the most exciting acts to come out of Nashville.”

WXPN ‘Artist To Watch’

Nashville, TN’s Kopecky Family Band have signed to ATO Records, and their debut album Kids Raising Kids will see a wide release through the label on April 2nd, 2013.

Kopecky Family Band are not a family by blood, but by bond – through the palpable sense of community and care for one another that the members share (as the new album’s title suggests), forged by time and touring. The band’s origins can be traced back to a Belmont University dorm room, circa late 2007, when Kelsey Kopecky and Gabe Simon first met and heard each other casually play a few songs. The musical chemistry was instant, and within a few short weeks the two had written the songs that would become the band’s debut EP, Embraces (2008). They rounded up a group of mutual friends to play with them, and Kopecky Family Band was born.

The band has amassed fans the old fashioned way: through a near-constant touring schedule that began almost immediately, with dates booked at first during breaks from school. EPs The Disaster and its B-sides companion Of Epic Proportions arrived in 2010, as did breakthrough performances at the Next Big Nashville and SXSW festivals. National tours with Devotchka, Gomez, and Givers, and performances at Bonnaroo and for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series followed, before 2011 closed out with Paste naming them one of the ‘25 Best Live Acts’ and ‘20 Best New Bands’ of the year. Kopecky Family Band spent spring 2012 on the road with a co-headlining tour with The Lumineers and supporting Gogol Bordello, and wound down the year with festival appearances at Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits. In the past six months, a number of their songs have been featured on primetime TV shows as well, including: Grey’s Anatomy (ABC), Parenthood (NBC), The Vampire Diaries (The CW), MTV Awkward, Beauty & The Beast (The CW), and College Game Day (ESPN), among others.

Kids Raising Kids is the sound of a band coming into its own and as a whole truly greater than the sum of its parts. It’s an adventurous record, the unmistakably open sound varying from the playful sing-along pop of “Heartbeat” (official video: http://youtu.be/Wq-8dxYHnyU) to the haunting heartbreak of ballad “Change;” from the classic swing verse and mountainous chorus of “My Way” to the bright, breezy soar of “The Glow;” and from the chiming, cello-laden drive of “Hope” to the darker, propulsive “She’s The One.” The bright, irrepressible songs on Kids Raising Kids deal with navigating waters of change and facing challenges – like being away from home, falling in love, having perspective and seeing others’, going after what you want – and also sees the band challenging themselves by creating a bigger sound than anything they’ve done before. The album, which began as another EP but bloomed into a full-length LP, also marks the first time contributions from all six members are upfront alongside and in complement to the leadership of Kopecky and Simon.  A full track listing is below.

Kopecky Family Band will head back out on the road next weekend for a number of tour dates in March and April. They’ll first join up with Leagues for a co-headlining run beginning March 2nd at the Green Bar in Tuscaloosa, AL and wrapping up March 9th at the Underbelly in Jacksonville, FL, before hitting this year’s SXSW music festival. After a string of solo headlining shows in mid-March, the band will join up with Milo Greene on April 15th at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, OH for a tour that continues through April 30th at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, CO. Kopecky Family Band are confirmed to perform at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE in June as well. A current itinerary is below and more dates will be announced soon.

Kopecky Family Band are: Kelsey Kopecky (vocals, keys, bass), Gabe Simon (vocals, guitar, horns), Steven Holmes (guitar, lap steel), David Krohn (drums), Markus Midkiff (cello, guitar, keys), and Corey Oxendine (bass, guitar, horns).

Jim James Releases Debut Album “Regions of Light and Sound of God” today!

Regions of Light and Sound of God, the first solo album from the singer, songwriter, and guitarist for My Morning Jacket, is now available for purchase today on ATO Records!

Purchase the album today through iTunes, his online store, or on Amazon!

Over the course of fifteen years and six studio albums, James has been the focal point of a group that has grown into one of the most acclaimed and successful rock and roll bands in the world. With this project, he reaches into new territory that extends, but doesn’t break from, MMJ’s accomplishments.
Until now, James had never felt the call to create a longer-form album on his own. “I’m very lucky to play in a band with guys that I love, who are great at what they do,” he says, “so on MMJ records, I don’t have a need to play bass or keys or what have you. But as a person and as a musician, I love to play every instrument under the sun, and I wanted to make a record where I played all the instruments and produced/engineered it myself.”

The results are nine songs that resist easy categorization, from the hazy space-funk of the opening “State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U.)” to the chiming, operatic pop of “A New Life.” On Regions of Light and Sound of God, nothing is what it seems—touchstones from old-school R&B or island folk or hip-hop flicker into focus and then disappear; a delicate instrumental is titled “Exploding.” It’s complex but cohesive, intimate and hypnotic where My Morning Jacket might turn more wide-screen and epic.

“The album knew what it wanted to be,” says James. “The songs would tell me what they wanted to be, and I just had to search around and find those sounds to bring them into this world.”
