After an eccentric year of Primus & the Chocolate Factory shows, we are excited to announce Primus’s upcoming run of 2016 shows with legendary rockers TOOL. A limited run of eight dates, these shows are not to be missed. The band will also be playing a New Year’s Eve show at Fox Theater in Oakland where the album Pork Soda will be played in its entirety for the first time ever. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Last but now least, in honor of its release we’ve revealed the music video for “Candyman”, in which a Claymation Les Claypool serenades candy cave creatures. Courtesy of Bass Guitar Magazine you can watch + share it HERE.

“The recording is about my early perception of the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory film,” says Claypool. “The notion wasn’t so much to go in and redo the soundtrack note for note as much as it was to utilize the classic elements of the music yet try to reflect some of the darker undertones of the Roald Dahl books, because when you read those books, there is an eerie and somewhat menacing aspect implied.” – Les Claypool

Listen to “Chippewa” from Benjamin Booker: Live at Third Man Records, Out Now

Listen to a live version of “Chippewa” from Benjamin Booker’s Live at Third Man Records album, out now, at Rolling Stone here. The album is available on limited edition vinyl at the Third Man Record store.

Booker said of the release, “This record is the result of a year on the road. Its the best nights of my life and nights I would give anything to take back. It’s sleeping in parking lots and sleeping with people for beds. It’s eating bad food with good folks. It’s makeups and breakups. It’s missing home and never wanting to go back.

“Somehow I’m still here. Somehow the boys and I managed to keep things going. We learned from each other. We grew tighter as a band. The songs changed and on the night of September 24th we stepped into that building in Nashville to capture that.

“Thank you Mr. White and everyone at Third Man Records for welcoming me into your home and giving me a chance to share something I’m proud of, the live show.”

Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show Announces His ATO Debut – Out March 3rd

ATO is thrilled to be releasing Gill Landry’s new solo album on March 3rd. Landry’s illustrious career as a multi-instrumentalist and songwriting member of the Grammy-Award winning band Old Crow Medicine Show includes a recent induction into the Grand Ole Opry, performances on “A Prairie Home Companion” & “Austin City Limits,” and world tours with featured stops at major festivals including Bonnaroo, Coachella, and the Newport Folk Festival.

The 10-track album was fully produced and mostly engineered by Landry and recorded in what he calls, “a ramshackle, shanty-ass apartment on the south side of Nashville.” Contributors include various friends and musicians Landry gathered on his nonstop travels alone and with Old Crow including songstress Laura Marling who duets on “Take This Body,” singer-songwriter and guitarist Robert Ellis, trumpeter Nick Etwell of Mumford & Sons and Odessa Jorgensen who lends harmonies and fiddle to a number of tunes.

Check out the lead single “Just Like You” below and pre-order the album in the ATO webshop or on iTunes.

Landry will be on tour with Justin Townes Earle for the bulk of February and March and will be headed to SXSW after that.

Watch Video for Fly Golden Eagle’s “Stepping Stone”

NPR premiered the new live video for “Stepping Stone” off of Fly Golden Eagle’s new album Quartz, available now. Check it out below:

Director Joshua Shoemaker, who Ann Powers of NPR called “one of the town’s most sought after filmmakers”, explains of the live clip, “We could have made this a ‘music video’, but it was also important to us to do it live and make it as real as possible. This is all one take. No cut-ins. This is what was happening in the room.”
