“Full of frothingly pissed-off working-class British rock, with shades of glam, pub rock, the Jam’s lefty-mod broadsides and Oasis at their most soccerhooligan-y.” – David Fricke, Rolling Stone

“Education, Education, Education & War offers those in the market for good rock music something like optimism; we should care because a real rock band might make it onto the charts in this otherwise One-Directionless One-Republic of Imagined Dragons.” – Forbes

“Its DNA is spliced from the likes of Futureheads, Art Brut, and Pulp, and it charges forward with spittle-lipped anger and propulsion, ultimately sounding like it could inspire a mosh pit at any point from the turn of the millennium until now.” – Consequence of Sound

J. Roddy Walston & The Business Unveil New Interactive Video for “Same Days”

J. Roddy Walston & The Business are at it again.  The band recently released a interactive video for “Same Days.” The interactive video allows you to connect characters in different scenarios. According to the band, “The film shows a connected group of characters and their seemingly monotonous lives. As the characters and scenes collide in unexpected ways, it challenges our concept of routine and normalcy. We realize that there is no such thing as a mundane life. There are no same days.”

Check out the interactive video HERE and see how you can change the story!

RODRIGO Y GABRIELA’S 9 DEAD ALIVE OUT NOW

Rodrigo y Gabriela’s new record 9 Dead Alive is officially out now! NPR streamed the record in its entirety last week and said, “In their newest album, 9 Dead Alive, Rodrigo y Gabriela return to their roots, reminding listeners why they fell in love with the Mexican duo in the first place. The album finds them at the peak of their musical flexibility. This new album is extremely stripped down and minimalistic, a treat both for those who’ve been following the duo since the beginning, and also for those who recently discovered them: letting listeners eavesdrop on a private conversation spoken between two friends, in the universal language of the guitar.”

Rod y Gab are confirmed to perform on the Conan O’Brien show on May 8 and a summer tour has been announced in support of 9 Dead Alive including a just-announced Rough Trade NYC in-store performance today, Wednesday April 30.  This special in store performance will be a philanthropic event for Rodrigo y Gabriela’s foundation, B Major, an organization that save dogs from kill shelters and finds loving homes for them.

This week also marks the vinyl release of Rodrigo y Gabriela’s self-titled debut and second album, 11:11. While the first album was issued on vinyl in a very limited edition in 2006 and has been out of print for many years, this is the first time that 11:11 has been available in the United States.
